Homecoming Butterflies!

Yesterday was the day! Yesterday was the day that Mr. Man came home. I really could not believe that it was finally that time. I just felt like it had not been the length it was suppose to be, but I'm not complaining. I would much rather be feeling like that then to be dragging as if it has been way too long.

Yes, it was a long time, but I also understand that it could have been longer (like the one before). I am just thankful to have him home. All last night, I kept saying, "I feel like I just fell asleep for 4 months." And honestly that is how I felt. I just could not believe that this past 4 months had flew by so quick. Another thing I kept saying is, "Get out of my way!" Jokingly of course. It's such a change having no one around the house, doing your own thing, then for someone just to step in and change it all.

I have to say there was no complaints on things  being changed around here. At least not yet. Last night I cooked. I was so excited to be able to cook. I had not cook a good and proper meal in almost 4 months. I cooked, but nothing fantastic. I was stoked to cook. So many of my friends said they would be ordering take out for supper. Not me! I am taking the opportunity to cook! I love to cook, and that was what I looked forward to most... home cooked meals. It's just so hard to cook for 1. But not only cooking sounded exciting, but sleep did, too.

Yesterday was a long day. As much as I was ready for it to be over, people kept adding more to my plate. If I could only say no from time to time, just maybe I would not be so stressed at times like these. I must say that I hardly ever get stressed, ever. And I must say that I really do not get stressed. It takes a lot for me to get to the point of where I was yesterday (and the day before and the day before!). On Wednesday, all the commotion began. I got a call from my husband's First Shirt, which is also a friend of mine. She told me the times that the guys were coming in. Since I am a Key Spouse, I had to call the others and let them know which flight their husbands would be on. Within 30 minutes of me making those phone calls, things changed. Of course they did! That is the military for you. So I make a second round calling everyone. That was done, so I took off to run errands. Everyone called nonstop because they were hearing different things. Some spouses were being demanding, others just wanted to facts. I can understand too an extent. Say the 4am phone call that I got because she heard that the flights got changed again. Then the 5:02am phone call. And the 6:07am phone call. Then an 8:21am call (which was the important one). Yes, I know these calls by the minute because I was so exhausted, so tired. I just wanted to sleep and sleep was not an option. So after that last call, I had to call everyone and tell them  new information. After that was done, I finished up the little things that I needed to do before I left to go pick up Mr. Man. While I was doing my small chores, I got a couple of phone calls that were just off the wall. One was because she was leaving to go pick up her husband, which was on a flight before Mr. Man. She was scared out of her mind to pick up her husband. She was so nervous that she was sick to her stomach (which I get like, too). She wanted me to go with her!! I know, I know, crazy! So I told her there was no way that I would ride with her, but I would make some phone calls and maybe meet her up there. Well as I was about to walk out the door, another girl calls. Her husband was on the flight with Mr. Man but she didn't have a driver's license so she was stuck up at the Hangar until our guys got there, which was 3 hours before their due time. She wanted me to go sit up there with her since she could not go anywhere. I offered to go pick her up and go do something to waste some time. She accepted. So I was literally out and about all day long. My makeup was melted off my face. My hair was wind blown. My sign was all crinkled up! At this point, I was like "I do not care anymore. I just want him home." And that was the truth. Yes, I felt bad that I did not look my best, but he knows the sacrafices I make, as he is the "nice guy" that does the same exact thing.

I did bring our baby boy. I even made him a little bandana shirt that says "Daddy's Lil' SSgt(in the strips)." It was adorable. So many people commented on how cute he looked and such, but it was quite embarrassing. However, I would do it all over again because I swear Wiley misses our son more than me... and remember our son is a pup!

The buses pulled up with all the guys, and I just stood towards the back. I always do because I hate crowds. Mr. Man finally found me, and I let our boy off the leash. Mr. Man called him and he ran straight up to him and got so excited. This pup knew his Daddy was home for good. Of course, Mr. Man walked up to me, and the rest is history. We had to wait on his bags, which did not last long. After that, we loaded up and came straight home.Took a shower, cooked dinner, and passed smooth out. Both of us had been running off of about 2 hours of sleep!

Today is a new day, and not finished! So I will try to keep you all posted on our fun little adventures while he is off. Then, of course, comes Italy! 22 more days! Mr. Man will be off for 2 more weeks!

Here is a picture of me holding the sign and the yard sign. We do not have any of us together yet. I also have a couple of more pictures of me and our boy waiting on Daddy. Someone else took it, so I am waiting on it from her.
