50 Adjectives: Focused

First off, to be honest, I'm not sure that focused is even an adjective. But it is in my book because I am a focused person! What do you think, adjective or verb? Either way, it describes me.

focused:

noun- a central point, as of attraction, attention, or activity.

verb- to concentrate.

When I have my mind set on something, I normally zone in on it and until it is accomplished, I have all my focus on it. I am a very determined and self-motivating person when it comes to my dreams, goals, and things I want. Here is a list of things I am focused on now.

1. My Life- That is an obvious answer. My life is important to me. The way I carry myself, the things I achieve, the person I want to be are all important factors to me.

2. School- I am 100% committed to school. I love learning, and I can not wait to teach what I have learned to my future students. Honestly, I love school so much that I would be willing to be a full-time student for the rest of my life.

3. My Family's Future- I constantly think about what our future holds. For me, I want the best and will not settle. When I say I want the best, I mean I want to have what I can have, what is controllable. For example, I wanted a certain amount of money in a separate savings account for our children. That is what I am talking about. Not having the most expensive car or the biggest house, or whatever else people want these days. I just want a successful life and a secure future for my family.

4. Our Finances- I seriously zone in on our finances like a hawk. I put money in to savings every month. I budget like a mad woman. I make it work. I want to make it work. Why? For our future.

5. My Faith- My faith is very important to me. It's my foundation of life. It is exactly what has made me who I am today, and without it I am nothing.

6. My Health- Of course, we all knew I was going to put this one. There are so many health issues that run in my family, so it is important to me that I take care of myself the best way I can.

7. Fitness- This kind of goes with health, but I have more goals than just eating healthy. I want to be fit. I want to be that person that can still function at 50 and 60.

8. Lists- I am a nerd about lists. I always have to be organized. I have lists for our money budgets. I have lists for our travels. I make a gazillion grocery lists because I shop at 2, sometimes 3, different places a week. I have lists for things that need to get done around the house. I have my to-do lists when I have errands to run. I have lists for things I need to bring with me to appointments. I have a wish list of clothes, panties, bras, workout accessories, Wii games, books, traveling accessories, etc. I love my lists!

9. Traveling- I definitely want to be able to travel as much as possible throughout my whole life. Not just while I am here in England, but for forever. I never want it to end. I have a lists of places I want to see and during which time frames. Have I mentioned that Mr. Man got approved for us to go to Ireland over the Thanksgiving break?! I started planning that already!

10. Future Deployments- I constantly think about when Mr. Man will deploy again. Not because I dread it or anything of that matter. It is mostly because I know it is going to happen, and I try to plan around it if I can figure out about when he will leave. Right now, I am estimating he will leave next August for 6 months.  So with wanting to travel and such, I try to plan around that time-frame and make it work. However, this is the Air Force, he can leave at any moment, for any time, and I am well aware of that, too.

11. Love- Of course, I focus on love. Love in my marriage. Love between my family and friends. Loving and not hating. I'm happy when I love, so loving is a big part of my life.

12. Friendships- I definitely love my friends, and I absolutely focus some time to hang with them. I want to be there for them just like they are there for me. I need my girl time. I need my fun girls nights. I need my girl talk. And I need the extra support. Who doesn't? I love my friends! They totally rock! I also love the new blog friends I have recently met. I never realized how big this blog world was and who I could meet through it all. I have definitely built some lasting friendships through this, and I hope to one day be able to hang out with you guys or cross paths at some point in our lives. That would be way cool!

And I am focused on my blog! DUH!

50 Adjectives: Honest

50 Adjectives to describe me and my life.

As I go through the weeks, I find more and more things that are positively impacting me and my life. Sometimes I feel that these things are negative things that are trying to wear me down, so I began to think long and hard about it. Majority of the time, I realize that it is actually positively impacting me. It's little life lessons that I begin to see as life lessons and see how much I am learning and taking away from them. It's when I realize that I am truly blessed and honored to be who I am and experiencing the things that I have. Even though they do not always seem to go 'as I planned', they are still there and in the right time, right moment. Almost like it is falling into place on it's own. Actually, that is exactly what it does. God watches over me and I know this. He takes care of me, he knows what my future holds, so he molds my present to fit the future experiences.

This week I am going to discuss honesty.

Honest (on-ist)
–adjective
1. honorable in principles, intentions, and actions; upright and fair: an honest person.
2. showing uprightness and fairness: honest dealings.
3. gained or obtained fairly: honest wealth.
4. sincere; frank: an honest face.
5. genuine or unadulterated: honest commodities.
6. respectable; having a good reputation: an honest name.
7. truthful or creditable: honest weights.
8. humble, plain, or unadorned.
9. Archaic . chaste; virtuous.

I am a very honest person. Only to a degree, though. I will tell you what I think if you are a positive and open-minded person.  For example, if someone was to ask me if the shirt looked good on them, chances are I would be honest with them unless they get easily offended. In other areas, such as speaking my mind on everyday things, I am honest. I am not into politics or discussing the war, but if you ask, I will answer. I believe if you ask me something, then you are opening yourself to my beliefs, which you should respect me just as I would respect you.

Honesty for me is really easy and simple. You tell the truth. You do it nicely. If someone disagrees, I respect them.

However, there are some areas I could work on. For example, I am not honest to someone that hurts my feelings about something that I know should not hurt my feelings. I am talking about incidences like what happened with my sister. (Missed that story? Read it here.) I was upset, obviously. At first I did not tell her why, but later on I did. Because I knew it would pass. I knew it was not something that I should let get to me, but it was one of those things that did. The thing for me is that if I was honest with her in the first place, then chances are I would not have worried her near as much. In the beginning, she had no clue of why I reacted the way I did, so it caused her to worry and wonder.

Now, do not mistake this with people doing immature things and upsetting me. I am definitely not talking about 'Mrs. Blank said this about me and it hurt my feelings' type stuff. I'm talking about life situations that disappoint me.

I would like to think that people are honest with me. I have had a few occasions where people did not feel I was approachable enough to talk to when I said or did something that offended them or upset them. I try to be an open person and show that I do care and will try and change if it is something that needs to be changed. But the only way for that to happen is if they bring it to my attention. I am a very open-minded person. I listen to people. I care about people. Therefore, if someone tells me that I said or did something to hurt them, I will fix it.

I believe that being honest will get you somewhere in life, farther in life. Mostly because you will be respected for being honest and you will have a great foundation since you are honest with yourself. Sometimes I feel I may be a little too honest with myself, but in the end, it makes me stronger, more motivated, and self determined to push farther and do more in life.

Then there are the moments where you just should not be 'too honest' with the world. Like when you hear that someone you know's husband is cheating on her or her husband is going to deploy when she is due, etc. My rule of thumb for that one is their personality. If they ask you if you know anything, tell them unless they are psychotic and will call their husband's supervisors and chew them out. (That has not happened to me personally, just for the reference!)

How do you feel about honesty? Do you think it is an important quality to have?

50 Adjectives: Loyal

Now that I am home and getting back on schedule, I am getting back to my regular posts. The next adjective is:

Loyal.

The definition is:
[loi-uhl]
1. faithful to one's sovereign, government, or state: a loyal subject.
2. faithful to one's oath, commitments, or obligations: to be loyal to a vow.
3. faithful to any leader, party, or cause, or to any person or thing conceived as deserving fidelity: a loyal friend.
4. characterized by or showing faithfulness to commitments, vows, allegiance, obligations, etc.

I am very loyal, very loyal in many different ways. I am loyal to my husband. I am loyal to my family. I am loyal to my friends. I am loyal to my acquaintances. I am loyal to people I just meet. I am even loyal to people that do not treat me all that well. I am, of course, loyal to myself.

True. I can not help the fact that I have a very caring personality. I do not care what others think of me, but I do care about others well-being.

As a wife, I am expected to be faithful to my husband. No matter how far he travels, I am still his wife forever. No matter how stubborn he is (which is often), I am still his wife forever. As a house wife, I am expected to do the house wifely "to-do's". As a mother to my furry son, I am expected to feed him, bathe him, make sure he has water, gets plenty of exercise, is comfortable, is healthy, etc.

As a daughter, I am expected to love my mother and father. As a sister, I am expected to love my brother and sister. As a grandchild, I am expected to love my grandparents. As a great grandchild, I am expected to love my Granny. As a niece, I am expected to love my aunts, uncles, and all their children. (I think that covers it all for the most part.) I love my family. I am a very family oriented person. I believe that family is everything. Without my family, I would not be who I am today. I would not have the morals and values that I have. There are many things I would not have if it was not for my family. I love my family very much. I call them as often as possible. I email them regularly. I show them pictures of our adventures and of us. I think about them nonstop. I am very loyal to my family, including the in-laws.

As a friend, I am commitment to the friendship, the relationship that we have. Even though most of my best friends are in the states, spread around the world, I still stay in contact with them. I still support them (and they definitely do the same for me). I do believe I could work on this a little more, which I have began to. I have the most awesome friends in the world, and the least I can do for them is be the best friend to them that I possibly can.

I am loyal to acquaintances. To me, acquaintances are people that are not necessarily friends because of differences, but they are still civil to one another. If I could be friends with everyone, I would. But the fact of the matter is that not everyone desires the same thing. Therefore, I have to live with the fact that some people may not want to be my friend. As childish as that sounds, it really is true. And no matter how much our differences are, I am still very loyal to them. I care about people. It is who I am, so even if I had enemies, I am sure I would still care about them, their families, their children, their livelihood.

As a Key Spouse, I am loyal to my spouses. I lend a shoulder when they need it. I lend an ear when they need it. I lend my lawn mower when they need it. I even lend my hard-work when they need it.  I sacrifice for them because I am loyal to my commitments, my obligations.

I am very loyal to myself. I have goals. I have dreams. I have a life. A life that I want to be fulfilling. The only way to fulfill it is to be loyal to myself, to commit to it.

However, I am not a perfect person. I cheat on my diets. I sometimes do not push myself to limits at the gym. I tend to overeat, especially when it comes to boiled seafood. I make excuses for myself, which in turns means I am in denial or lie to myself. I slack at many things, especially at household chores. And I am sure there are many, many more.

Something I have noticed from this post is that I am unloyal to myself, but to no one else. Yes, Mr. Man may suffer if they household chores are not finished, but that's a part of life. When it comes to outsider, I care about them. I want to be there for them. I want to help in any way I can, and I do.

50 Adjectives: Loving

This is my very first post for the 50 Adjectives that describe me and my life. If you missed the post about it and want to know the intentions of it and how it will work, you can check it out here.

The first adjective that I have listed is:

Loving.

The definition is:
Loving (luhv-ing)
Adj.-- feeling or showing love; warmly affectionate; fond: loving glances.

I believe I am a very loving person. I love a lot of things, and if you ask me to know something or someone I hate, I will look at you with a dumbfounded look. Truth is, hate is a strong word and nothing bothers me enough to hate. But many things affect me in the way that makes me love them and be a loving person.
I am a loving wife. I support his every decision, his career, and the life he chose for us. I love his personality, his snuggles, his determination, his support, and his sweetness. I even adore the not so positive things in him, too. His flaws. But he is mine, all mine, and I do love him and everything about him and our life. So what do I do to pay him back for his kind and caring actions? Easy. I love him in return. I cook for him. I wash his clothes. I go to school to better myself our future. I do for him, just as he does for me. I won't go on and on about me being the "perfect" wife because I am not. But the point is, I am loving. I do adore Mr. Man.

I love and appreciate many things in life, even the small things. I find that as I age, I grew in the appreciation and respect of life. I find that even the small things in life, things I did not live to see for myself, and the things that I am learning about through our travels and school, I grow fond of. I have a heart, a big one. It's hard for me to find something that I do not enjoy. I believe there is a place in everyone's heart for a variety of things, for appreciation, respect, and love in general.

I love people, almost all people. I mean that, too. It takes someone hurting me multiple times before I will finally let go. Normally it is more about that person than it is about me. For instance, if I know someone needs some help or support, I will help them. Even if they have hurt me multiple times. Some say I am too nice of a person, but it's just my personality. When I see someone in need, I want to help them. And if they allow me to, I will.

I love to volunteer, help charities, and get out and volunteer my time for our community. Most people do not understand this because I do not have children, but I enjoy doing it. I love children. I love meeting new people, and I obviously love to help and support any cause. I know if I was a less fortunate person or needed some time of encouragement, I would hope that others would lend a hand.

Now, I am not perfect and probably could do more in each one of these categories. I know and understand that, but I still feel like I am a loving person. There is definitely more love in body than hatred. Would you agree?

What do you do to show that are loving and caring? Whether it is for your family, friends, environment, etc.

A New Game for Me:

So, I wanted to start this up while Mr. Man was still away. I thought I would do it as my 50th blog post because at that post, I hit 50 followers. Well, things got hectic, and I never had the opportunity to post it and start it. Now I can, and now I will!

This little game is about 50 adjectives that describe me and my life. I chose 50 because at 50 posts on my blog, I hit 50 followers. 50 was the lucky number at that point. I'm almost positive there is more than 50 adjectives that can describe me, but I will chose 50 for now and see how it goes.

Basically, what I am going to do is tell you the 50 adjectives that I plan on blogging about. These 50 adjectives will be listed in this post. I will write about one or two per week until I have used all 50 of them. This is mostly for myself, and to find how I view life, more positively or negatively; more serious or humorous; etc. This will also be a great way for you to get to know me.

I will also add in the antonym of each adjective (if it is appropriate and fits my lifestyle at any point). For example, if I talking about love.. I will talk about hate. Whether it is things I love, things I hate. Another example is if I discuss being focused, I will most likely discuss my not so focused moments... which I am an ADD child!

For me, this will be fun to go back and read to see how how I have grown and see how I view things. For you, hopefully this will allow you to get to know me better and add some spark into my blogging! (Because we all know I need it!)

When I travel, I will probably not have the opportunity to do this, so please bare with me. You all will know when I am traveling, so just keep that in mind.
