New Friend Friday

As I go through and get up to date with all the blogs I notice that Kristen from Windy Poplars has come across "New Friend Friday" by The Girl Creative. Since I am sitting here feeling slightly exhausted and tired trying to stay awake, I thought what better way to spend my time.. meeting new people!

Here it goes:

The Girl Creative
The question is: If you could narrow it down, what was the best thing that happened to you this week?

I would have to say that the most exciting thing that happened to me this week was when Mr. Man told me that his off days have been suspended. In the Air Force world, that means that he is extremely close to being home, within a few weeks. For me, this means I need to kick it into high gear to get things done for myself and around the house, so we can enjoy each other again and spend some quality time without worrying about other things that need to be done.

On my Agenda!

Now that we are getting closer to Mr. Man coming home, I thought I would throw together a "to-do" list. It's time to start fixing myself up for his arrival. Plus, I have been telling myself that I would do some things your my followers since I have never actually introduced myself or told my story on here. I told myself once I reached 15 or so followers I would do so. Do not put a time or day on this, but I promise to get around to it. I also want to throw some pictures and memories together of this deployment while my husband was away. Things to use as memories after he gets back. Like my favorite pictures of me and my baby boy, the times I dressed him up in silly things, and our days out playing around. But for now, it's about things I need to get done soon within the next few weeks (other then the things I have already mentioned).

My goals this coming week are:
1. Get a hair appointment.
2. Get my nails done.
3. Finish cleaning the spare bedroom.
4. Schedule our baby boy's hair appointment.
5. Start planning our (Mr. Man and I) spa day.

These should not be hard as long as I set my mind to it and manage my time right.

All of this adds to the regular everyday things that I do. I take our Baby Boy on our walks, go to the gym, do some cardio on the Wii, cook, clean, do school work, and read our guidebook. Lets see what happens.

Bow-Chika-Boom

Today is a new day, a bright and sunny one! Just the way I like it! Thank you England for being bright and shiny. Please stay like for a long, long time.. at least through our travels!

Yesterday, I posted a blog about how boring my life was the moment. Right after I posted the blog, some things hit. Some good, some bad. Which do you want first? The bad is not dangerously bad, but it was not exactly what I was expecting. How about I start out with that one? Ok, so I post my blog, start thinking about the things I need to do around the house, then sign on to my classroom online to make sure things are going good, and BAM (a big, big BAM!). My Art decides to slam us with a couple of Art projects due this Sunday. One that includes a website that only works on and off, which means I have gotten no where with. I emailed him, submitted a question in our classroom and hopes of a fellow student helping me out or stating that they are having the same issue. As of about 5 minutes ago, no replies from anyone. I like to get my school work done early. I am one of those girls that wants to get it done as soon as I can, so I start relaxing sooner. Oh, wait... reply just came through. Ok, so now at the current moment, another student is having the same issues. So that is good, right? I mean it's not good, but at least I know that I am not the only one lost here. The other assignment will be easy, so no complaints there. I already started working on it and majority of it done. I just need to type it up and submit it really and provide a couple of paintings as examples.. not hard.

Ok, good news. Are you ready? Are you sure you're ready? Are you sitting? If not, please take a sit to capture this moment (with me)! Ok, so I am excited and anxious and ready! Guess what other news I got yesterday right after submitting my blog? Yep, yep, yep! Mr. Man told me that his off days have gotten suspended, which means that he is super-duper (sp?) close to getting his booty home! Bow-Chika-Wow-Wow!  I am extremely stoked and can't wait. It will still be a few weeks, but we are much, much closer now! Yippee, Yippee, Yippee!

Ok, enough, enough! I know...

The questions for this party are as follows:
1. What is your favorite vacation spot?
Wow, this is a tough one considering I am about to travel a lot with in the next couple of years. But so far, I have to say that my favorite vacation spot thus far is when me, Mr. Man, and our baby boy went to the Scotland border for a long weekend. We went hiking and just relaxed. Here are some pictures to show a little of our adventure.
The picture below is of the valley itself.
The picture above is the beginning of our 8 hour hike.
The picture below is me pretending to fall over.. It actually was really scary!
The above picture is Mr. Man enjoying the scenery.
This next one is our baby boy at the top of the mountain... and the wind got the best of him to give us a priceless photo!
The picture above shows the top of the mountain, but this is a picture after we began to descend.. looking back.
The picture below shows one of the many stone fences throughout The Lake District. These are very, very old! They are lined along the roads and through the neighborhoods.
Of course, we have many, many more photos, but I don't want to bore you too much!

2. What are the three qualities that you most admire about your husband (or if you're not married what are the three qualities you would most desire in a man)?
To pick only three, now that is the tough part. I have to say 1.) His commitment to being healthy and fit since it is a part of me, as well. 2.) His desire to be a better person in all aspects of life. 3.) His personality.. the fact that he can be loving, caring, sweet, but still be strong, masculine, tough without losing any sentimental value.

3. What has been a meaningful Bible verse to you this week?
I have been harping on Truth from myself and others as things in my life take place. The verse that I have came upon often and feel connected to is:
2 Timothy 2:15
"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth."

4. What is your favorite color(or colors) and why?
My favorite color is by far Yellow. Yellow is my favorite color because of the fact that is it bright. It sends light to all dark times and provides positiveness. It is always the color that brightens my day.

5. What is the funniest thing that happened to you in the last 24 hours?
Oh, oh, I got it. Lately, I have been tangling my words up and typing crazy words when I mean other words. Like one day, I told my husband I going to go work, when I meant bed. (I don't work!) Another day I told him I was going to go to a friend's men, but I meant a friend's house. (I think I worried him about going to another man's house, haha!) And the one that happened yesterday, which I thought was hilarious was when I said "It spread like Wildflower!" Of course, I totally meant "Wildfire." The joys of being blonde... scattered!

Wednesday!

This week is about half way over! Now that is exciting. I am extremely excited about my husband coming home SOON! I am thrilled to death and can not stop thinking about it. Yippee Yippee Yippee!

So my schedule is getting closer to being back to normal, which is what I have been trying to do this past week or so. I need to start waking up earlier in the day and going to bed at normal time rather than staying up so late and being so exhausted throughout the day. I also started doing double the cardio in the gym, which has been going very well. I did an hour yesterday, alternating between the tredmill and eliptical. I did about 40 minutes today because I was pressed for time. However, later this evening I will jump on the Wii for some cardio kick boxing with Gold's Gym. (If you have a Wii, and want a nice workout, check out this game!)

Sorry about such a short and limited blog, but nothing exciting has been going on lately! Clean house, do school work, shower, cook, bed, read guidebooks, plan our trip, and patiently wait on husband's arrival. I live a boring life, for now anyways!

Little Thoughts here, Little Thoughts There

Today, I got a massage! I was definitely due up for one, and my massage therapist said she could feel it in every area of my body. I knew this because I have been so tense lately from the anxiety of Mr. Man coming home. On a normally day, I get a full body swedish massage and a facial. I do this about every 6 weeks. Today, when I went in, I was telling her how I have not been able to sleep because I am so anxious, excited, and feeling impatient. She worked through my knots on my shoulders and lower back and just told me to drink plenty of water and relax when I got home. She told me to be sure that I let all my feelings out (even if I talk to myself in the mirror)! Ok, so I don't talk to myself in the mirror, but I definitely write... blog. Like I have said before, writing has always been my therapy. I am working on that because I normally would bottle in all my emotions and just sooner or later move past it. However, those knots that form from all the toxins never fully release themselves unless you get some type of workout/massage.

After the massage part, I normally get a clay facial. These facials are absolutely amazing. I always feel so refreshed and my face looks so healthy after I get it done. And thankfully, it lasts a long time. Well, this time since I had been discussing my stress and not being able to sleep, she through the thought of having a face massage done. It is basically the same as the facials, but with the massage tied in. This was ABSOLUTELY (!!!!) amazing. Words can not explain how amazing it felt. As she was massaging my face, she told me that I have tons of tenseness (is that a word?) and pressure in my forehand. She asked me if I had been having frequent headaches or migraines. Of course, I have. She just kept working with my forehead, and oh my goodness it was amazing. I could actually feel the pressure moving from my eyebrows. She pinched here, pinched there, pressed here, pressed there, rubbed here, rubbed there. Even went to the tops of my shoulders up around my neck. Absolutely fascinating.

I love this lady that has started doing my massages because she is full of knowledge. She doesn't just tell you the things you should or should not do. She also explains why or why not and even what causes certain things. Like the first time I went and saw her, she explained to me why I am having so much lower back trouble (other than the obvious stress). And other than the obvious injuries from high school. I played softball in high school as a pitcher and a catcher. We all know that catching is bad on the back and knees. Pitching made my wrists go bad. I have arthiritis (insert sad face because that stuff hurts) in my wrists. I also was a cheerleader, and surprising that is pretty harsh on your back because your body stays strained when you are being all flexible and stuff. Anyhoo, so she explained to me that when your body stays flexed or tensed in a certain position, your body begins to build up the toxins there. She told me that if I cross my legs while I am sitting, it causes major tension in my hips, which leads to my lower back. For that, I have been trying to break the habit of crossing my legs. Then today, she told me that the tension in my forehead is from concentration/strain in my eyebrows (basically, squinting). She told me that since I have been stressed, that is probably what is causing the tension and headaches. She told me what to do to fix it... and I am so amazed! Oh, and she told me to always wear sunglasses even when it is partly sunny because I have sensitive baby blues. This lady is absolutely fabulous. If you are stationed here or live in this area, let me know. I will hook you up!

Another awesome thing this massage therapist did for me today is..... give me permission to eat CHOCOLATE! That's right. She told me that there is something in chocolate that helps release stress/tension in the female body, but if you over do it, then it will do absolutely nothing. I think it is in the mind. One of those confidence, self-esteem type things, but hey... I got myself excuse to eat one small piece of chocolate. My chocolate of choice: Milk Chocolate covered Cherry. British Chocolate, which I find to be WAY better than American chocolate, but if you ask the Brits, they will tell you that our chocolate and ice cream (they love Blue Bell) is better.

Next thought of the moment has to do with school and our trip to Italy. As you all may (or may not) know, I have been planning our trip to Italy. (Oh, ADD child coming in, I got our guideboks and phrase book/dictionary for the trip today, too! Woo hoo!!) Back to trip planning.. I am also taking an Art class, which is not the best of classes, but I am learning so much. A lot, a lot of history. Last week, I had to do a paper on Michelangelo's David. If you do not know what I am talking about, please have your history lesson for the day... it will show just how excited and blessed I am. I realize, after doing this whole paper, that I will be in Florence in (Drum Roll Please.....) 47 days. Well I will be in Italy in 47 days, Florence 4 days after that. (Rome is our first stop.) So... guess where Michelangelo's David is now located?! You've guessed it! FLORENCE!! How awesome is that?! I study this piece of art that had so much controversy so many years ago, and then a month later, I get to see it with my own eyes. Wow, I live a dream!

So.... there were my thoughts for the day!
