Happy Tuesday to you!
Here is a conversation that happened in my house this morning.
First, here is the background story. Mr. Man ordered some things off of Amazon a couple of weeks ago. I have a couple of debit cards listed in the payment area because we have a gazillion bank accounts. Mr. Man chose the account that is strictly for our house mortgage. Yesterday, I got an overdraft statement from the bank. I told him about it and said I needed to look into it. Well, I found what happened. Our overdraft fee was $30, and he made two orders for $30 on Amazon.
Me: "Next time just be careful."
Mr. Man: "I'm sorry."
Me: So, we basically paid $60 for something that cost us $30."
Mr. Man: "I'm sorry.
Me: "It's ok. I'm just saying."
Mr. Man: "Actually, it was $15 extra per order."
Me: "Ok, so that means we paid $80 for everything."
Mr. Man: "Yep, I guess so."
Me: "No wait. We paid $90 for everything."
Mr. Man: "No, $80."
Me: "No because $30 plus $30 equals $60 plus $30 equals $90."
Mr. Man: "No, $15 plus $15 equals $30. It was $15 per order."
Me: "Exactly, think about it. $30 plus $15 equals $45. Another $30 plus $15 equals $45. So $45 plus $45 equals $90."
Mr. Man: "Yea, yea. You're right.":::As he grabs his shirt for work::
Me: Serious as can be. "I know I'm right. I'm taking an Intermediate Algebra class right now, remember?" ::Shakes my butt at him and begins walking up the stairs::
Mr. Man: ::gasping for air underneath his shirt, laughs out loud:: "Now, seriously. You are hilarious."
Me: ::walking up the stairs, remembering what I said, laughs out loud:: Thinks to myself: "Wow, I did sound ridiculous!
LOL!! That is seriously me, right there. I was so proud to be right about something mathematical!
