MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In with Mrs. Sergeant!

Q. Aside from no deployments, what is one thing you would want to make the MilSpouse life “perfect”? submitted by Oh How Delightful
A: To me, the MilSpouse life is not meant to be perfect. We know there will be deployments and TDYs. Really, those are the only things I would want to change if I could. Lengthwise for the sake of other spouses and frequency for the same reason. However, I would love to always have my family around. But I would still want to be able to move every few years and go overseas. I guess there isn't anything I would change that is realistic. Oh wait, I know! Save the Drama!

Q. Just how many peppers did Peter Piper pick? submitted by Married into Army
A: I say he picked 24,345,678. And I'm almost positive he did this all in one day! LOL :)

Q. If you could have any career in the world with nothing holding you back, what would you do? submitted by It’s My Party and I’ll Cry if I Want To
A: The career field I am currently working on getting is my dream career field, which is to be an Elementary Teacher. If it wasn't my dream, I would not be wasting my time. I really enjoyed the Optometry thing for a while, but it was not a good, portable career. After a few years of discovering that, I realized that it was not what I wanted anyway. I would also like to get into fitness training on the side. Maybe not even for the money, just for the knowledge.

Q. Do you have a service oriented tattoo and if so what is it. If you don’t what would you get? submitted by The Squid’s Accomplice
A: No tattoos for me. They are not for me at all. Mr. Man does not have any either.

Q. Imagine a block of time has opened up in your busy day for you to take a class in anything you like. What subject would you choose?  submitted by To The Nth
A: Fitness, Health, Photography. Ceramics - I already do ceramics, but I would love to learn how to mold and fire them as well.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In:

This is hosted by Wife of a Sailor!!

1. Do you set goals for yourself during deployment?  What are some of them? (from Military Mommy)
Generally, I will set goals for myself during any time that Mr. Man is away. During deployments, I generally have a firm plan for school and fitness. During any time he is away, I set goals for the house and things that I personally need to get done. Especially if it is things I can get done faster and quicker when he is not around. I try to commit to so much volunteering a week that way I know I have something planned and will stay busy. That is generally the just of it. This last deployment, I made a promise to myself to redecorate our bedroom and start on the living room. Little things like that.

2. What would you say to someone dating a military guy or gal?(from Mothering Off the Cuff)

I would make sure that they know and understand that this lifestyle is not easy. But it also something that we necessarily choose. It's something that has just happened to us. I would make sure they know and understand the strength one needs to survive this life. I would lend them as much advice as I could possibly to make sure they make the right decision for themselves. It is not easy, and it is not what movies and all these other fairy tale stories make it out to be. Yes, some of us may live that fairy tale dream, but we do in a complete different way.
3. If you have children, how do you prepare them to move to a new place? (from The Random Ramblings of A Household 6)

Well, I do not have any human children in this world, yet. So I really can not speak on this. However, I have our baby boy, which is enough preparation in itself. My advice would be, prepare early, do your research, and start the process as early as possible to guarantee no problems.

4. Name one hobby that gets you through alone time. (from My Sailor’s Mistress)

The gym. The gym is my escape, whether Mr. Man is here or not. I love the gym. I love working out, and I love the environment.

5. What’s the one food you don’t ever get tired of? (from That Army Wife Life)
Now, that I am pregnant... this is interesting. CHINESE FOOD! is the only thing I have eaten multiply times without getting disgusted at the thought of it. I really dislike a lot of Cajun foods right now, like gumbo, rice and gravy, jambalaya.... sad face.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In:

Wife of a Sailor

1. What is something you wished you’d learned to do earlier in life?
Really, I have learned a lot very early. One of the most recent life lessons I have learned is that not everyone is going to like you for who you are. Some will not give you the light of day because they think they know everything and are better than everyone. So I wish that I would have learned that sooner, so I would not have taken it so hard once it hit. I hardly ever have someone not like me, and since I have been in the UK, I have had my fair share of drama from a couple of people that can not seem to let things go. Other than that, life is about living and learning so I am constantly learning new things, and I feel I am learning them all in good time.

2. What is your biggest pet peeve with the military?
The biggest is hurry up and wait. They want you to do everything you can do as fast as you can, in the shortest amount of time possible, but then when you are done and ready, they are just beginning their share. Of course the famous, no set dates or times. But I have to say I respect that one way much more than the hurry up and wait.

3. What tourist attraction near you have you never seen?
I live in the UK. I have not been to Wales or Cornwall. Those are two places I really want to go when I get the chance.

4. What are you avoiding doing right now?
A paper for my education class. It's the easiest paper, and I am over halfway done with it, but I will have all day tomorrow to myself since Mr. Man is going paintballing with some guys. I think I will finish it then!

5. Wine, beer or liquor?
I am now a wine drinker. I still love my occasional Sex on the Beach, Bahama Mama, or Margarita, but I have started drinking wine way more often. I think because when I drink, it's just a glass or so. Wine is the appropriate drink for something like that.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In:

1. What is your spouse’s best feature?
Mr. Man has a HOTT back! It has always been my favorite feature on him... but I am starting to fall in love with his chest. It has grown so much, and is huge. I am a sucker for muscles, for sure.

2. Mild, Medium or Hot sauce?
Ummm.. Do you know where I am from? LOUISIANA! Bring on the hot sauce!

3. What is the worst uniform you had to wear for a job?
I have only had two jobs in my life. Well 5 if you count 2 babysitting jobs and another job that was basically the same as the other. Anyway, I worked at a grocery store in  high school. I only had to wear these polo shirts that had the name of the store on them. They were actually cute, but they did not have anything small enough for me. I finally talked them into order kids sizes!! The other job I wore a navy polo, kakhi's, and a lab coat. I actually miss that job and the lab coats! They were my security.

4. You have invisible powers… where is the first place you would go?
To heaven to get a glimpse of God and the golden gates.

5. What’s left on your “to do” list for this summer?
I need to hit the beach here in England at least once. I have not done it yet. We went to the beach in Venice, but not England. I want to picnic on the beach with the whole family. Me, our baby boy, and Mr. Man!
Just a quick reminder: The CSN Stores giveaway ends tomorrow!! So hurry and enter.

MilSpouse Friday Fill-In

1. Besides the horizontal mambo, what do you miss most when your spouse is deployed?
Horizontal Mambo.. is that what it is called now? --ha! Great one!
I totally miss everything about Mr. Man. I miss his snuggles, our family time, him picking on me, watching movies late at night, traveling together on weekends, cooking together, sleeping side by side at night, taking showers together, and working out together. I miss him doing the dishes for me... I hate dishes!

2. What do you miss least?
Is that possible? I mean yea, we get on each others nerves from time to time, but when he is away, I miss everything.. including his sarcasm.

3. You only get three crayons to finish your picture… which three do you choose and why?
My picture of life? I would go with yellow because it is bright and cheery, which defines me. I would go with a shimmery pink color because it's girly, and I am extra girly. The last color would be white because I carry a sense of innocence.

If it was an art picture, I would probably be coloring in a coloring book. I still do that, you know. I love to color! If I was coloring and I picked out the page to color, it would be a big, bubbly picture with something girly, cute, or colorful. Like flowers/butterflies, a Disney Princess, or a clown. I would definitely use yellow, pink, and red. Then I would be begging to add some purple and possibly neon green.

4. If you could have your own fragrance, what would it be called?
Hmm, I am not too creative on this question. I am not really a fragrance girl either. I have my perfumes, but that is the extent of my thoughts on it.

5. If the shoes make the man (or woman), what do your shoes say about you right now?
Well since I am not wearing shoes, I will describe my collection of shoes. Shoes are seriously a bad addiction I have. When Mr. Man leaves for months at a time, I accumulated about 5 pairs of shoes a month. No lie. So my shoe collection would define me as laid-back, bright, casual, comfortable, short (because I have so many heels! and I really am short.), creative, different, natural, athletic, and confident.
