Sweater Weather Tag

This tag is circling over on YouTube and since I only post more candid videos and videos my family like to see, I thought I would write out the tag instead.

So here is the Sweater Weather Tag.

And if you are reading this, I tag you!

I would love to read your answers, so post a link to your post in the comments so I can go read your replies and see if we have anything in common with one another!

1. Favorite candle scent?
I love candles. If you know me, you know there are always candles lit in the house. Not just me, but my husband too. He is actually the one who got me hooked on candles. Some of my favorite scents for this time of year is the "Leaves"  from Bath and Body Works, "Fall Harvest" from Yankee Candle, and "Pumpkin Spice" from PartyLite.

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
Well, considering I just wrote a post on my new addiction to coffee I think you know the answer to this question. BUT I must say that on a late afternoon when I am feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, hot tea is a great relaxer for me. And hot chocolate is my favorite when watching Christmas movies with A.

3. What's the best fall memory you have?
I have a lot of fall memories, but most of them are ones that we have created since starting our own family. My favorite is raking leaves. Not actually raking the leaves, but the after fun when you throw the kids in a pile of leaves or load of the wheel barrow with leaves and allow the kids to rid on top of them. When you bury the kids in them and only their little faces are showing. That's the memories I love.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
I have really small eyes, so winged eyeliner is NOT for me. But a dark lip every once in a while is a nice touch. Especially for a dinner date night with the husband. Not to just go out to run errands.

5. Best fragrance for fall?
This is hard. I'm not sure I have a fragrance that I love. We do have the Glade mist canister thing, and my favorite scent is the gold one for the holidays. I also like the Apple Cinnamon. I wish I could remember the name of the gold one. But they are both holiday scents and are only out during this time of the year.

6. Favorite Thanksgiving food?
My favorite Thanksgiving food is gumbo with rice or ham. I love, love, love a good ham. Our tradition as a family is to cook a chicken and sausage gumbo with rice. Sometimes we will also do potato salad and/or cornbread. I also love me some pumpkin bread.

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?
To be honest, it changes every year. The trees are always so gorgeous, too. I would say that it is legit sweater weather most of the time. Last year, it was super cold by now. But right now we actually have the sun shining through and I haven't been wearing a jacket/coat/hoodie throughout the day.

8. Most worn sweater?
I don't really have a most worn sweater, but I do have a favorite. It is a dark gray cable knit sweater from Old Navy. I haven't worn it the last couple of winters because I have been pregnant for them, but this winter I will probably wear it a lot.

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?
I would say any dark color in the colors that you like. If you like blue, I would go with navy. For me, I really like burgundy and deep purples.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
Definitely jumping in leaf piles. Mr. Man would say the opposite, but I'm not a football girl. I just go with the flow when it comes to it, but I would choose just about any other activity other than that unless we were watching it in person at the stadium.

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?
These days I am a leggings girl. They are super comfy, and I love that you can dress them up or down.
12. Combat boots or Uggs?
As much as I love my man in his combat boots, I prefer Uggs on my feet!

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
I'm not sure what this is referring to. I am assuming the flavor in the Starbucks coffee drink or any other drink for that matter. Pumpkin Spice is yummy in pumpkin pies... but not in my coffee or any other drink.

14. Favorite fall TV show?
We don't have cable at our house. We don't watch TV. The girls get a limited time to watch a movie here and there, but other than that our TV is almost always off. So, I have no idea what even plays during the fall time to even choose something.

15. What song really gets you into the fall spirit?
When the radio stations start playing Christmas music, that is when I start getting into this time of year. Because I know the Christmas is right around the corner. And Christmas is definitely a magical time of year!

Remember if you have read this, you are tagged. Be sure to leave your link in the comments so I can go read yours. I love to see how others feel about this time of year, and I love to get to know my fellow bloggers and vloggers!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! It's almost the weekend! :)

I drink coffee.....

FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS!

I started drinking coffee about a month or two ago. Before I started, I absolutely hated it. I couldn't get myself to drink it at all. Not even with milk and sugar.

Then I came across the chilled creamers. Not the powders... gross. The liquid ones are delicious.

Mr. Man drinks coffee every day, every morning. So I got use to the smell, and I watched how he made his.

On a chilly day, I decided to give it a try with him as we ate breakfast.

I am hooked. Not because I am tired and exhausted. Although it does help.

I drink it because I love the flavors. I love the warmth during this time of year, and i love the variety of flavors the creamers have.

Yum... my favorite is the Hazelnut one.

But I continued drinking Mr. Man's leftovers every morning after I brought A to school.... because I love the flavor.

And now, here I am, a couple of months later... and I'm hooked.

One day missed of coffee and a massive headache. Shame, shame.

I never wanted this, but boy it was destined.

We all know that most teachers drink coffee. It is their energy boost to keep up with the young children they teach throughout the day. I wondered when my day would come.

Here I am, relying on coffee. Headaches are for the goonies, so I will just drink a half of a glass of coffee to subside the headaches.

Even though coffee has a lot of beneficial things that come with it, I really don't want to be reliant on it.

Should I stop drinking it? I mean it really isn't that bad, right? It's just yummy, and warm, and flavorful, and satisfying... why stop?

But I must admit that I hate knowing that my body has become use to it and I need it in order to keep caffeine headaches away. I hate that. Do I really need coffee? NO. But because I loved it so much, I now do need it every single day.

Well, hello there cool weather! Thank you for the wonderful coffee addiction. I appreciate it.

Last Minute Getaway

We decided to take a last minute trip up to Garmisch, Germany to Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. We drove up on Saturday and will drive back on Monday. I do not have any scheduled blogs to post, and I may not be available to post during our trip.

We drove on Saturday and it was a fairly smooth drive. It rained a little towards the end of the drive, but through Italy and Austria the weather was nice. The girls did very well. They didn't sleep much on the drive, but they also didn't fuss. That is always nice. When we arrived to the resort, both girls were ready to play. We brought them to the Veteran's Day children festivities. They had all kinds of different bouncy castles, a large race track for motorized cars, people making caramel apples, books for the kids, stuffed animals and other things for infants, face painting, and more. It was the perfect amount of fun for A, and even E got some play time. After we spent a couple of hours doing that, we went and had dinner. Since neither of the girls had a full nap that day, they were ready to sleep. We skipped the fireworks and swimming like we had planned and hit the bed early.

Today is a free day. We thought about taking a tour, but I think we will just lay back at the resorts and do more kid things and walk around to see the local sights.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Veteran's Day weekend. Be sure to thank a Veteran for their service, whether it is past or present.

Birthday Planning for A

As most of you already know, I plan way in ahead for the girls' birthdays. For A's first birthday, we did something really small with just family and close friends. For her second birthday, we took her to Italy's largest aquarium because she was into sea life and mermaids. And here we are planning her third birthday.

When I was trying to come up with a theme, I took into consideration her current interests. Her favorite things are dinosaurs, Buzz Lightyear, and Spiderman. She went through a phase of only wanting to watch Toy Story when we asked what she wanted us to put on the TV.When we asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween, she chose Buzz Lightyear. After that, I deciced that the theme was pretty obvious. It will be a Buzz Lightyear/ Toy Story party.

Once I made the decision and confirmed it with Mr. Man, I went on the hunt for some ideas. Google and Pinterest became my best friend. I searched party ideas and how to make it girly. Then I started a board on pinterest. You can browse it here.

Once I found my inspiration, I started somewhat planning it out. Her birthday isn't until April, so nothing is set in stone since so much can change between now and then. But for the things that I am most set on, I plan to start purchasing.

Here is my inspiration:

The Duggars

You know.... I have learned that The Duggar family is a fairly controversial family. Some people love them and some people hate them. Hate is a strong word, and I really don't understand how anyone can hate anything much less any person. But that's besides the point.

I don't watch a lot of television. In fact, we don't even have cable or AFN. We watch movies if we watch TV or it is off. I do like to watch videos on YouTube. Just like blogging, I also vlog and watch other vloggers. And on occasion I will watch a documentary or episode of a show I like. The Duggar family is one. 19 Kids and Counting....

I have been watching on and off for a while now. I really enjoy their show. I am very intrigued at how they stay organized, but most importantly how they raise their children. I think that from previous posts, most of you know we are a Christian family. We hope to instill those morals and values into our children as well. Sure, having 19 kids seems a bit overboard. BUT if any family should have this many kids, it should be parents like them.

Obviously I only see what the show shares. But they have been on for a long while now, and they haven't showed any signs of not being who they claim to be. Sure, they may have gotten bigger and better things and started doing more publicity, but they haven't changed their ways.

For example, look at Jon & Kate Plus Eight. I also was intrigued by their show several years ago. But there were signs all over the place about their relationship and who they were. It was shown in their show through their personalities. Sure enough, it wasn't long that it all started coming out and their show was cancelled.

I just don't see this with happening with The Duggars.

To see how their children are growing into the people they are and doing the things they are doing really shows their unconditional love for their children. Even if religion didn't play a role in this, the way they raise their children does. Even if someone disagrees with anything they do (like courtship, homeschooling, etc), the children are still extremely successful.

I know many people would say when you have money and your own TV show, you can do anything and have anything for your children. I agree to an extent. I really do. But I also didn't see it when Josh and Anna married and moved out. They strived to build their own life, and I feel they did not rely on his parents.

Obviously, I'm not there. I don't know them personally, and I do only see what is on their show. But I really can't stand when I see people bashing them all because of the fact that they have so many children. Most of the time, I see that it is people who didn't have a great family relationship growing up or they didn't pass down that relationship into their own family and children. It just aggravates me, I guess. In the sense that too many people judge them for all the wrong reasons.

Do you like The Duggars? Do they inspire you in any way? Or do you not support them in anyway because you disagree with their ways?

Let's make this a positive and healthy discussion. No attacks on myself or any other commenters.

A says the silliest things! AGAIN!

So I really enjoy documenting what A says because Mr. Man comes in and checks out the blog on ocassion and this is where he finds out some things about the girls' days.

Here's one from today:
While watching Iron Man (yes, I know. Not the best choice, but she loves superheroes....)
A: I yike Iron Man.
Mommy: Mommy likes Iron Man too.
A: Yes. I think he cute.
Mommy: Oh you do?
A: A want to kiss him.
Mommy: You want to kiss him????
A: I want to hug him too.
Mommy: Awww, you're so sweet.

But really, my replies in my head were....
"I like Iron Man, too."
"Yea, Mommy does too."
"WHAAAA?! That's MY girl!!"
"Yep, she gets it from her Momma."

The conversation was cute, was funny. But if I had to choose a celebrity crush... I'm not gonna lie. It would be Iron Man.

I have seen him in other shows, and he definitely isn't as cute as he is portrayed in Iron Man. He's only my celebrity crush as Iron Man. Other than that, nope.... no celebrity crush! :)

Pinterest Fun: List #1

We all know Pinterest is super popular right now. I definitely utilize it for many, many things. I'm always pinning stuff and trying new things. In fact, this is how I get ideas for the girls' room, the play room, crafts, meals, organizing, and more. I thought it would be fun to start a list of things that I plan to do that I have pinned on Pinterest and follow up here. I thought starting out small would be ok since I'm not use to carrying around the camera for these activities and I really don't know how many I do in a month.

I thought it could be a monthly thing. At the beginning of the month I post 5 things that I plan to do using pins from my Pinterest. Then I share them here as I do them. Simple as that.

Pinterest List 1 -

Homemade PlayDough
Colored Rice for Sensory Bottles
Halloween Themed Crayons
Decorate pumpkins

Pesto Ranch Chicken in the Crockpot
